Financial Manager at the Swedish Competition Authority

Do you want to work with issues that affect all citizens and develop in a stimulating and pleasant work environment? Then the Swedish Competition Authority is for you.

We are currently looking for a financial manager to cover for our current financial manager who is on parental leave. The position is a one-year temporary contract starting in mid-April 2026.

Responsibilities

In your role as financial manager, you will work with financial management, annual reports, internal governance and control, as well as accounting and financial administration. The function is located in the finance and HR unit, and as a financial manager, you report to the head of development. You will have personnel responsibility for a business controller and a financial officer. Your role entails overall responsibility for the following areas:

  • responsibility for the organization in matters concerning finance, accounting, and budgeting,
  • preparation of risk analyses and follow-up of the operational plan,
  • financial matters related to the Swedish Competition Authority's research grants,
  • annual reports and support regarding budget documentation.

You will coordinate the various work areas together with your employees. In your role as personnel manager, you will also have tasks such as salary discussions, development conversations, planning, and distribution of work tasks. You will also collaborate with the Swedish Competition Authority's management team in joint work processes related to salary reviews and operational planning.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in economics with a focus on business economics and at least five years of current public sector experience working with:

  • financial management,
  • accounting,
  • annual report work

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You are structured, meticulous, and good at prioritizing. You have the ability to dive into details when needed while also being able to take a broader perspective in other contexts. In this role, you need to be able to take initiative and work independently. You are also pedagogical, unpretentious, and communicative.

Furthermore, you have a good ability to adapt your leadership style to what the situation and assignment require, and the public sector's core values permeate your work.

It is an advantage if you have current experience in:

  • leadership with personnel responsibility
  • project management
  • fee-financed operations
  • case follow-up and case analysis
  • risk analyses
